Musketkogel mal

Mal voor het maken voor musketkogels, 17de eeuw. De mal is gemaakt van zeep steen en is in twee helften. In de kleine gaatjes werden houten pinnen gestoken om te zorgen dat de twee helften goed gecentreerd waren. Gesmolten lood werd in de gaten in de zijkanten gegoten. Als het lood afgekoeld was werden de twee helften uit elkaar gehaald en waren er 12 musketkogels klaar.

Casting mold for musket ball, 17th century. This mold is made of soapstone and comes in two halves. In the four small holes they put wooden pins to make sure that the two halves were properly centered. Molten lead was poured through the holes along the edges. After the lead was allowed to cool, the two halves of the mold were seperated and twelve bullets were taken out.
